As the 2007 TennisNYC Spring, Summer, Fall League
season come to a close, we are honoring the Best
TennisNYC League Players of 2007 in terms of
friendship, tennis skills, loyalty, great
personality, positive attitude, sportsmanship,
fitness and pure love for the sport of Tennis! All
the 2007 TennisNYC
Sports Awards winners went to Daytona Beach, Florida to receive their
awards and played lots of tennis at the Florida
Tennis Center. It
was indeed a great Spring, Summer, Fall 2007
season of Tennis in NYC! Thank you everyone for
making TennisNYC the most prestigious and the #1
Tennis league in NYC!

Reza's (photo above R) dish was a hit during our
TennisNYC Christmas Party/round robin doubles!
"It's delicious!" everyone at the party
said. Marlene, on the other hand, also
prepared an awesome great tasting spinach dish,
and said smiling, "my kitchen was a
mess!" All the effort of everyone was well worth
it. Deanna, a league member, was so happy, she
emailed the next day, "last night was fun, it
was a treat to play [tennis] in the warm indoors,
and to enjoy the food afterwards!" Oren
and Steven Oh won the evening's raffle. For

I LOVE the SPORT! Scott Schneider (photo above) is very happy
that he picked up the sport of tennis. He
transitioned from playing baseball to playing
tennis which explained why he learned tennis so
fast! In just barely 7 weeks of Level I and
Level 2 tennis lessons at a private club, he
already showed solid fundamentals! Go Scott!!!

game is exactly like Federer except he is a
lefty. He has an awesome one hand backhand,
strong forehand, excellent conditioning,

presently working for his family who runs a

Playing Tennis in NYC Central Park (Photo above shows NYC tennis players forming

Tennis House to open) Do you know that the line
starts forming at or before 6am!!! If you get
there by 6:20am, your chances of getting a court
is very slim. If you cant get there by at
least 6:10am, just FORGETABOUTIT!!! 6am Tennis Crowd in Central Park Tennis Center.
Can you wake up that early to play tennis? Actually if you can, the best time to play
tennis in Central Park is from 6:30am to
8am. The 26 green clay courts are freshly brushed and
the air is very nice!!!
Tennis Tip: The toughest day to get a court in NYC Central Park Tennis
Center is during the weekends. However, there are two ways you can
get a court without the hassles of waiting in line for long hours and then
being told that all the courts were already taken. One way is to
book the court way in advance if you know you are definitely playing that
particular weekend. The second way, is to get to Central Park tennis
Center between 6am and 6:30 am and book the court for the particular

Types
of string:
String is made from two types of materials: natural gut,
constructed from the muscle layer of beef intestine, and
synthetic. Natural gut generally offers better playability and
synthetics typically offer improved durability.
String gauge:
Gauge measures the thickness of the string. Thinner strings, from
16 to 17 gauge, deliver better feel and playability. Thicker
