(Photo above L-R) Karen See and Vipul from India played last
Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 2005 at TennisNYC.com tennis league.
Karen paid $40 for almost 2 hours of tennis drills, hitting and supervised
game/match play at a private court in Koko Lani's [League Director] Luxury
Building in Edgewater. I [Koko Lani] picked her up at the Ferry,
toured her around the area and sat down for a nice cup of coffee at Panera
in front of a fireplace. "It was lovely, " Karen said
smiling after she met new tennis friends. Karen said, "Few months
ago, I went to a private tennis club in Manhattan and asked about joining
a league. They told me I have to pay $1,250 for membership, $250 for
game evaluation, pay for court fees each time I play, so I left and didn't
come back. I used to play in a league at Richmond Lawn Tennis Club in
London and I only paid the equivalent of $200 for one year!"
(Photo above L-R) Janice Vrana and Sherlia Shi played 2 hours of
round robin doubles and extra hour of hitting last Friday night,
April 1, 2005 at the TennisNYC.com tennis league. Janice is
holding her prize (Oscar de La Renta blouse) for winning the first
set of doubles with her partner, Tommy Ho (6-2). Sherlia Shi,
a dog lover, is holding Hakuna, a 3 year old dog of Koko Lani
(League Director). CONGRATULATIONS, JANICE!
Kangas (photo left) works as an art designer for major
companies. She loves playing tennis and is very motivated to
improve her game. Sometime last year, she joined a tennis
club, paid a ton of money and didn't have a very good
experience. She said, "The club couldn't find me a
partner. Then I was paired with an old lady whose game was very
advanced and I was just starting to learn." Lauren did more
than an hour of tennis drills and match/game situation with another
member of the league, Janice Vrana at my building [Koko Lani] in
Edgewater, last Thursday afternoon, March 31. "I want to do
another tennis drill if you find someone," she asked smiling
just before she took the 5 minute Ferry back to Manhattan.
Howie Hershkovich (photo above) played at the
TennisNYC.com last Wednesday night, March 30, 2005. He did an
hour of intense tennis drills and hitting especially on the backhand
side. "I like to work on my backhand," he said.
"I wish I saw your website few months ago, I would have joined
the league much earlier," he added. "I sleep better when I
get a good work-out!" Howie is a successful
businessman. He owns an investment company, www.Tissafunding.com.
He has been playing tennis since he was a kid!
