Joe Zara played at the TennisNYC.com league last Friday night, March 25, 2005.
Joe Zara said: "This league taught me how to fight. Even though I was a set down, I never gave up.  This match definitely gave me a lot of confidence."

Alan Yeung (photo left), the serve and volley player, played an intense 2 hours of singles last Friday night, March 25, 2005 at the TennisNYC.com league against the Tennis Warrior from Canton China, Mr. Eric Jin.  Although, they split sets in their first encounter few weeks ago, Alan entered the match with a lot of confidence.  Alan nailed most of his volleys, run for every ball and served extremely well which gave Eric a lot of difficulty. "I had to chase a lot of balls," Eric said after the match looking very exhausted.  Alan def. Eric in straight sets 6-3 6-4 6-2.  "Even though Alan was down 3 break points in the second set, he always has the ability to come back!" Eric added.  Alan quickly replied that "it was just a matter of a few points here and there" which made the difference in the match.

Vipul Sawhney (photo left) did an intense one hour of tennis drills, hitting and games with Koko Lani, the League Director, last Tuesday night, March 29, 2005 at the TennisNYC.com tennis league.  He hit hundreds and hundreds of tennis balls! "I don't like going to tennis parties, because I don't get a work-out," he said. "I am not into socials, I like to improve on my game and my conditioning.  I think I will do one more tennis drills, after that, I will be ready for tennis matches."  Vipul adds, "I like playing tennis with my friends in Long Island but they are not into tennis much and they don't have time.  They are also not very good."  Vipul presently lives in Newport, New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from Manhattan.
